The stone is made of dark grey polished Scottish granite, with a lighter gray band around the middle of the stone. The North Shore Curling Club was established in 1951 and met at the Curling Lodge at the North Shore Country Club. The Curling Lodge was torn down around 2008, according to the donor. This curling stone was among the original set used by the curling club.
