Skirt with 3 Parts - Net, Organdy and TaffetaDescription
Black Lace Wedding Dress, 4 piece (bodice top, lace skirt, sheer organdy outer slip, taffeta slip.
A) Bodice top: 3" stand-up open lace collar with 1/2" white satin sewn behind small top ruffle of black lace; wire stays at shoulder line hold collar firm to neck; Leg-of-Mutton sleeves: outer layer of lace has the exaggerated puff sleeve 15" from shoulder to double edge ruffle below elbow; and extended sleeve of 4" of net lace has a twisted thread interlaced through open lace holes in a diagonal direction around arm; end of sleeve has a triple ruffle with a scalloped edging. Rectangular 4" X 3" lace epaulet over the puffed top. Bodice top is open lace with a sheer organdy under-layer for the top 5" of top; above bustle line is an appliquéd black flower and bow lace which extends to 5"; lace is left free; Under bodice is of taffeta, style is strapless sewn to lace; 11 bones sewn in by machine.
Skirt: 4 parts, outer net skirt, sheer organdy skirt and taffeta slip; Lace skirt and sheer skirt do not have a waistband, presently unfinished and fraying; Base net of outer skirt has multi-random circles; attached to net lace is 4" width bow and flower machine embroidered lace which circles the skirt; there are two of these first is 4" down from apparent waistline second one is 12" down from first embroidered bow and flower black cotton lace; Between two embroidered lace bands are 3 one inch dress net lace sewn tucks; again same repeated lace bands of self fabricbelow last embroider lace band there are 4; the bands are hand sewn with the thread cord at top fold allowing bottom fold free; to create ruffle appearance on bottom 12" flounce the thread cord is drawn through 5x.
B) Overskirt: Black lace skirt and sheer underskirt have long self train.
C) Taffeta slip has elastic waistband with 2 snaps back for close on left side; large waist 40". Length: 34" with ruffle circling skirt at 24" machine stitching drawn up slightly to puckers 5 rows of stitching; 2" space two minute machine stitched tucks which circles skirt; 3" below tucks begins same repeat of ruffle, puckers, and minute tucks; hem is machine stitched 1/4" wide. Condition: good but construction on skirt waist need to be done. Found in box marked: Aunt Em's wedding dress.
