Lady's Walking Suit

Description

Lady's walking suit, pleated skirt and fitted jacket - light camel brown, napped wool flannel. 40" skirt, full length; 4 large inverted, graduated pleats shaped like a gothic arch - one large box pleat at center back below placket; twill tape at bottom of hem underside of skirt; 6 hooks and eyes at back closure circumference: 4 yards and 30". Matching brown jacket - short, fitted, flared jacket sewn with false felt seams; longer in back and bolero front; style of rounded front panels at jacket edge; one light brown bone button with the center of self brown fabric. Probably had velvet or fur trim which is removed from satin underlining collar and disintegrating satin lining (greige) collar. Pleated sleeve cap creates puffed sleeve and tailored lower arm.
