Context

Glenview Day(s)/Fair was started in 1917 on Sept. 15 with the erection and dedication of a public drinking fountain in the village square, topped with a bear. This promoted high spirits and feelings of village pride, and an annual event called "Glenview Day" was held. In 1921, the Glenview Civic Association was created, which hosted the following Glenview Days until 1929, when they disbanded and were replaced by the Glenview Days Committee. These fairs took place yearly until 1939. The next was the 25th annual on 1942. The next and last was the 40th anniversary on 1957
