Note from donor is attached to the deed of gift, but might be related to the wrenches and rail splitter donated at the same time as this item: "These were my fathers when he was a truck gardner. He also had greenhouses when I was born in 1921. We lived near Lincoln Avenue and Touhy Avenue in Tessville, which is now Lincolnwood Illinois. My dad's name was John Peter Endre." Another letter attached to the deed of gift states that donor's father left the donated items to him.
