Women's Pince-Nez Reading Glasses

Description

Women's reading glasses, pince-nez style, and case. Measure of glasses: 4" W x 1-1/2" H Lens for left eye has a hole for insertion of a ribbon for suspending the glasses about the neck of the wearer. Case measurers: 5" x 2" The nosepiece is gold tone. is rigid with wood-grain simulated black lining. Cleaning cloth in the case measures 5" x 3-3/4" W Rust red color with black lettering.

Context

Glasses belonged to Barbara Meyer, aunt of donor, who died in 1975 at age 83. She lived in Milwaukee for approximately 25 years after living in Evanston for 25 years, employed as a housekeeper by Mrs. Pomroy.
