Description
Wilbur Berding's World War II US Army uniform. The uniform consists of a jacket, jodhpur pants, and a shirt. The jacket contains patches for the 8th Armored Division, a French Service patch, and a "ruptured duck" honorable discharge patch. Donor William Berding described the symbolism of the 8th Armored Division's patch as yellow for cavalry, red for engineers, blue for infantry, tracks for mobility, gun for fire power, and lightning for the "speed with which we strike."
