Description

The object is a metal tin coin bank that resembles the shape of a house. The shape of the upper section (roof) is a triangular prism with the lower section (house) being a rectangular prism. There are pictorial images and text present on the outside of the coin bank that are orange, blue and yellow in colour. The front view rectangular section has a picture that depicts a facade of a post office and a train station and the triangular roof has orange tiles. There is a money slot in the roof that can also be seen from the front view. Directly below the roof and adjacent to the money slot are printed lettering that states: "The White Cross Post Office Savings Bank". Below the printed lettering are two yellow pillar columns that separate 2 painted pictorial images. The first image on the proper right side is a pictorial image of a women and a child conducting business at a front counter of a post office and the proper left side is a pictorial image showing a clock, train schedule and printed text blocks stating: postcards; letters; newspapers. Below the text blocks is a royal text symbol that states: GvR. The back view has a highlighted text box with printed lettering that states: "Take care of the pence and the POUNDS will take care of themselves."
