Description

One paper Valentine greeting card in the shape of a heart. The front of the card is decorated with a red apple, a letter stating "Dear Teacher: Could I be the apple of your eye? Cause I picked you for my Valentine," along with the image of a pencil. The card is folded along the top edge. Inside of the card the top is decorated with black and white heart and floral designs and the bottom has the inscription, "Would it be against the rule - Just to ask you to be mine?" On the reverse of the card in graphite pencil is written, "to miss Gamble," "from Norman."

Valentine card given to Mary Gamble when she taught school in Alberta.
