Description

One form style letter of sympathy which was sent to the family of Pte. Sefton Stewart following his death in active service, during the First World War. The letter reads, "The King commands me to assure you of the true sympathy of His Majesty and The Queen in your sorrow." The letter is signed by, "Secretary of State for War." In handwritten text at the bottom of the page is written, "145820 Pte. Sefton Inglis Stewart." The letter is heavily annotated.
