Context

Barbie’s style has changed a lot over the years, this example is from the 1960’s. Barbie has a “bubble cut” hairstyle, inspired by American First Lady Jackie Kennedy Onassis. In the 1960's, Mattel added new dolls to the Barbie world including Barbie's boyfriend Ken, her friends Midge and Christie, as well as her little sister Skipper. The Skipper doll was introduced in 1964 and since Skipper was a different size than Barbie, she came with her own separate clothes.
