Description

One rectangular shaped fabric flag displaying the Goulbourn Township municipal logo. The flag has a white fabric reinforced edge on the proper right side, including a wooden toggle at the top and a fabric rope at the bottom edge to secure the flag to a flag pole. The design of the flag includes an exterior dark blue coloured rectangle border with an interior rectangle that is light blue in colour. In the centre of the flag there is a uniquely designed letter "G" that is representative of the Goulbourn Township logo and is the focal point of the flag. The "G" is centered inside the light blue rectangle and the remaining letters of Goulbourn, "OULBOURN" are oriented to the proper left of the "G" in smaller capital letters. This flag was owned by Jack MacKenzie and accompanied him on a ski trip to the North Pole in 1999 to celebrate "Year of the Older Person." During this expedition MacKenzie achieved a Guinness World Record as the oldest person to ski this distance to the North Pole.
