Description

The needle book's exterior is a dark green in colour and is covered completely in leather. The book is held closed by a small strap that goes from the back of the book to the front and slips through a small flap in the leather. Within the book there are two pieces of hard cardboard, which have writing on them that reads "Kirby Beard and Co's Needles Made in Redditch" There are also 6 pages of cloth which each hold up until 8 or so different sized needles.

Context

This case was made by Kirby, Beard & Company sometime during the 20th century. The business is primarily known for manufacturing pins and needles but it also specialized in jewelry, watches and other luxury accessories.
