One post card with the studio portrait of Sefton Stewart featured on the image side. The paper card has one side printed with a Post Card template. The top of the card is labelled, "POST CARD," the left side of the card is labelled with the title, "CORRESPONDENCE HERE," the middle of the card says, "MADE IN CANADA," the right side of the card is labelled, "NAME AND ADDRESS HERE," and the far right upper corner has a square design with interior text that says, "PLACE STAMP HERE." A handwritten inscription is added to the card which reads, "Sefton Stewart died on August 1918 France." The card was not used, does not include an addressed message or a postage stamp. The image side of the post card has a studio portrait of Sefton Stewart who is standing and posed to face the camera straight on. There is a waist high table beside Sefton and on the left side of the photo, on the table are positioned a field cap with hat badge along with what presumably is a "swagger stick." Sefton's right hand is resting on the table behind the field cap. Sefton is wearing a military uniform that includes a wool jacket with a high flat buttoned collar, collar badges on either side of the collar closure, two large breast pockets, shoulder epaulettes, and circular metal button closures. Sefton is wearing wool pants with puttees wrapped around his lower ankle to knee. Sefton has dark coloured polished leather boots on his feet. The studio background is an interior, with a window and draped fabric and curtains on the right side of the background and a shaded dark background with no detail on the left side of the photo. Sefton Stewart was a member of the Canadian Expeditionary Force and served during the First World War from 1916-1918. Sefton was a resident of Richmond, Ontario.Context
