Description

The object is a land agreement indenture between William Hobbs and Robert Faulkner. It is dated October 13, 1835. It concerns a plot of land designated SW1/2 Lot 29 Concession 8. The support is a single piece of paper, the top and bottom of which is gently waved. The medium is a printed black ink. Fields have been filled in with a black handwritten ink rendered in cursive. There is a block of text perpendicular to the primary text body located on the proper bottom right side of the front. The words "This Indenture" appear in a bolded and sightly larger printed font at the top of the proper right side of the front. There are two seals in a vertical alignment located at the proper bottom left corner of the front. These present as brown circular imprints onto which a piece of rhombus shaped paper has been affixed over top. The rhombuses assume a slight diagonal orientation, with the long points oriented towards the proper left edge of the page with an upward bias. There is a body of text on the proper top left quadrant of the back which is upside down in relation to the primary body of text. The title page appears on the back proper bottom left quadrant, perpendicular to the primary body of text as this object as intended to be folded into a brochure form for transport and storage.
