(1) Longmoor Camp July 16th Dear Mother. Received your letter together with Clystal's on 13th. being very glad to hear from Richmond. I think Clystal's card must of [Spelling error: have] been delayed at Halifax, as she put on it the Army P.D. Halifax. We are still at Longmoor shooting, expect to be through here tomorrow, will then go back to Bramshott. There has been four or five Battalions stationed here for the last two weeks, there being ranges all around. It is now raining so I am down on the floor of the tent trying to write, got up from the range just before the heavy rain, we shoot one day in the morning the next in the afternoon. Yesterday evening we went down to Liss a very nice little town, about three miles walk, but the road is smooth as a bottle, saw some very nice old fashioned houses, just as you would see them in a storybook. Saw a man cutting hay for the first time with a mower, and a fine team of horses, but the work is mostly done by old men. We went into a restaurant for our supper, and got some mutton chops which [page missing]
