France. Apr. 30/4/18. Dear Mother, Rec'd [abbreviated: received] your letters of Mar. 22nd + 25th one containing five dollars. Thanks for the same. Also had word from Clystal + Earle Nixon, in you last letter you people had heard of the opening of the drive, don't need to worry everything is going OK. Was surprised to hear of George having started to work in the bank, would have sooner seen him go ahead to collegiate, but however there is no use of forcing him to do anything against his will, on the other hand he's young yet, therefore if he should desire to do something else he would still have things in his favour. Am very sorry to hear of C. Sinclair's death there certainly have been (2) considerable casualities in training to fly, its [spelling error: it's] pretty hard luck towards the Sinclair family, their mother being dead such a short time. In one of your letters you mentioned of David Evans having a brother gassed, well if I remember right Earl Dobson + I met him on the Somme, Earl knew him, while I remembered of seeing around home. Have you heard anything more of Earle making Canada, you had stated in previous letters of expecting him any day. Thanks very much for having that money transferred over to the bank if in London, but the question now remains when will they start the passes again of course it doesn't worry me much, as a person always finds that his pass + good time is over before he really realizes where he is, at any rate this game will come to a climax in the near future. Love to All Sefton
