[Page 1 of 2] Y.M.C.A. On Active Service WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE Address Reply to: Some Where In France Aug. [abbreviated: August] 13th Dear Mother Arrived in France early this morning, everybody being happy and well. We are not allowed to give definite telling where we are, have seen some of the French soldiers, their dress and military character being much different to that of ours. The weather is similar to that of England, which is very warm. We were only a short while coming across, but were very much crowded. I suppose you people will be worrying [Page 2 of 2] which is needless, we are all in as good as spirits as ever. Will write again when I know more about what news to give. Best Love To All Sefton. add. Pte. [abbreviated: Private] Sefton Stewart. A Co. [abbreviated: Company] 73rd. Batt. France c/o [abbreviated: care of] Army Post Office London England.
