Dear Mother:-
Just a few lines to let you know everything is O.K. Got a slight wound on the left hand, not bad enough to make hospital, but had to be inoculated, therefore I was sent out of the line for a few days. Have had no mail from home, since about 10th. April, but got a letter from Earl Nixon yesterday, written Mar. 25th. said the [crossed out: re] roads were full of snow then, & travelling was almost impossible. I never be anxious for mail, as I know you people must often be, of course I always

like to hear the local news, one thing I would appreciate now is a little money, as there are plenty of canteens around,. but every little article is a high price,. I suppose there will come a bunch of boxes together, there must be mail laid off somewhere being tranferred [spelling error: transferred] to another Batt. [abbreviated: Battalion] makes a lot of handling of mail before we ever see it. Did you get the mails I sent about a week ago?, also the Fritzy snaps I sent to George. I heard Arthur was wounded I hope it wasn't serious, have had no word from Ervie for about two weeks, he was then fine.
