[Page 1 of 3] France, Feb 4/2/18, Dear Mother:- Just a few lines to let you know I received your parcel of Dec. [abbreviated: December] 28th. was quite a time on the way, but arrived in good condition. You will be surprised to hear that I have seen Channon Hall yesterday, is in [crossed out: about] France about three weeks, there certainly is great change in his appearance has grown a great deal taller + stouter of course it is some time since I had seen last, he's in the 2nd Batt [abbreviated: Battalion] together [illegible: with]. Fox, while Floyd Wilson went to the PP's [abbreviated: Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry]. I would have never known of his arrival in this country had it not been for getting a letter from W. Brown, who was (2) in hospital from the results of a slight sickness. The next day I found [crossed out: out] that the 2nd Batt [abbreviated: Battalion] were billeted not very far from us, so after some manoeuvring around I discovered him, you may be sure he was surprised to see me alright. We are now having a few days of ideal weather that is for this time of year. of course a person can [never] tell here how soon it [will] change. Was glad to hear of you getting those souvenirs which I sent for Xmas [abbreviated: Christmas] in so quick a time, wrote to E. Eadie the other day, am sure auntie will be keeping down hearted for a while. I haven't much news now. Love To All, Sefton. P.S, Poor little Sid was killed a year ago today how the time does go.
