Description

One pair of iron Farrier nippers that are an oxidized brown colour. The nippers are composed of two pieces attached together with a metal pin. Nippers would have been used to trim and shape animal hoof material.

Context

This tool is like a giant pair of nail clippers and is one of the farrier’s most essential tools, used to cut and shape hoof material to care for a horse’s foot and for applying horseshoes.
