This object is an indenture documenting the bargain and sale of a plot of land between Thomas Garland and Charles Switzer Junior. It is dated September 11, 1852. The parcel of land in question is designated the F1/2 of E1/2 of lot 6 concession 8. The support is a cream colored sheet of paper. The medium is a black printed ink. The fields have been filled in with a black ink, handwritten and rendered in cursive. The title page appears on the front; perpendicular to the primary text as this object was intended to be folded into a brochure form for transport and storage. The words ""THIS INDENTURE" appear at the top of the proper left side of the front in a decorative font, in all capital letters. The text located at the proper bottom right corner of the front displays two vertical lines, comprised themselves of two smaller parallel lines, on either side of the text. The back contains a body of text in the proper bottom left corner. There are three seals on the proper bottom left corner of the back which consists of a square piece of light cream colored paper affixed to the document by some form of adhesive underneath; they are arranged in a vertical alignment.Context
