Description

This object is an indenture documenting a bargain and land sale between Adam Forsyth and Patrick Denver for 100 acres of land within the Goulbourn Township. It is dated to August 20, 1827. The parcel of land is designated E1/2 Lot 9 Concession 8. The support is a damaged, tan coloured, sheet of paper. The primary body has been numbered 990.6.44a. The medium is a black printed ink. The fields have been filled in with a black ink, handwritten, rendered in cursive. There is a portion missing from the proper bottom left quadrant. There is a rectangular section containing the proper bottom left corner which has become detached from the main page numbered 990.6.44b. The top edge of the page is scalloped with two types of scallops present, those with rounded, and those with pointed apexes. The words "This Indenture" appear at the top of the front in a larger font in a black printed ink with a slight bias to the proper right. There is a small body of text located perpendicular to the primary body of text located in the proper bottom right corner of the front. It is separated form the primary body of text by a vertical line, itself comprised of a bold line and a thinner line. There is a handwritten body of text perpendicular to the primary body of the text located on the proper right top corner of the front. There are two seals in the proper bottom left corner of the front on the detached piece 990.6.44b. They are arranged vertically. The seals are comprised of a square piece of paper, angled so that the corners point towards the top and bottom of the page, adhered to the sheet by an unknown adhesive underneath. The bottom seal has an unknown black substance on the paper portion. The title page appears on the back proper top right corner. There is an additional body of text located at the proper top left quadrant of the back; this is upside -down in relation to the primary body of text for unknown reasons.
