Description

This object is a land indenture agreement, 990.6.47a, between Charles Switzer and Adam Forsyth dated to 1838 with an accompanying envelope, 990.6.47b. It concerns a plot of land designated E1/2 Lot 6 Concession 8. 990.6.47a is a rectangular piece of cream colored paper. The medium is a black printed ink. The fields have been filled in with a handwritten black ink, rendered in cursive. The words "This Indenture" appear at the proper top right corner of front in a larger font, rendered in a decorative script. There are two bodies of text located on the proper right half of the back and one body of text located on the proper bottom left quadrant of the back. 990.6.47b is a tan colored envelope made of a thicker paper. The front bears several lines of script, and fields, rendered in a printed black ink. The fields are filled in with a black handwritten ink, rendered in cursive. The Words "C. McIntosh, B.C.L, LL.B., , BARRISTER SOLICISTOR, etc., , CARLETON PLACE, - - Ont." appear at the bottom center of the front of the envelope.
