Description

This object is an indenture for a land sale between William Irwin to Charles Hartin. It is dated to October 22, 1900. It concerns a payment of $125 for a parcel of land designated W1/2 Lot 15 Concession 12. The support is a lightweight, cream colored paper. The medium is a black printed ink. Red ink has been used to create borders. The fields are filled in by hand with a black handwritten ink, rendered in cursive. An unknown grey substance is spilled on the title page, on the front of this object. The title page appears on the proper right half of the front, perpendicular to the primary text as this object was intended to be folded into a brochure form for transport and storage. There is a block of text in the proper bottom right quadrant of the front which is upside down in relation to the primary text block. The words "Articles of Agreement" appear at the top of the proper left front page in a slightly larger, printed font. On the front proper left half there are three vertical lines which are comprised of thin parallel red lines; these extend the length of the page. The proper right most vertical red line, near the center of the page, is comprised of three smaller lines, the middle vertical line is comprised of two smaller lines, and the line located at the proper leftmost is comprised of two smaller red lines. There are also two horizontal red lines which are made of smaller red lines that run the length of the proper left half of the front. The topmost line is comprised of three smaller lines, the lower horizontal line at the bottom is comprised of two horizontal lines. There are two red circular seal on the proper bottom right corner of the back in a vertical alignment; they are shaped like cogs with pointed teeth. There are two horizontal red lines which span the entire width of the back at the top and bottom. The top horizontal red line is comprised of three parallel red lines. The bottom horizontal red line is comprised of two parallel red lines. There are a total of six vertical lines which run the length of the page on the back, three on each half. The leftmost vertical line on the proper left half is comprised of three parallel lines; the other two red vertical lines on the proper left half are comprised of two parallel lines. The leftmost line on the proper right half is comprised of three parallel lines; the other two red vertical lines on the proper right half are comprised of two parallel lines.
