Description

This object is the discharge for a chattel mortgage that was signed on May 3, 1905 between Albert Faulkner and Charles Hartin; $300 was paid for three horses, two mares and a foal. This document is dated April 4, 1910. The support is a piece of cream colored paper. The medium is a black printed ink. A red ink has been used to create vertical layout lines. The fields have been filled in with a black handwritten ink, rendered in cursive. The words "Dominion of Canada" appear at the top center of the front in a bolded decorative script which is larger than the primary text; this is underlined by two parallel black lines. There are three vertical red lines on the front of the page which run the length of the page. The proper rightmost is comprised of four lines, the central red line is comprised of three red lines, the proper leftmost line is comprised of two red lines. The title page appears on the back, perpendicular to the primary text as this object was intended to be folded into a brochure form for transport and storage. The block of text on the bottom half of the back is upside-down in relation to the primary body of text on the front.
