This object is an envelope made of a tan paper which has been folded into shape. It is held together with an unknown adhesive. The front bears an inscription written in a black medium. The inscription reads "Mr George Stewart" "Russell, Ont, Canada" and "[Illegible] of Ottawa". A darker black medium has been used to append the inscription adding commas and brackets. Another illegible, single word, inscription appears at the top center of the font. There are two rubber stamp imprints on the front rendered in black ink. At the proper bottom right of the front is a rectangular stamp which reads "Passed by Censor No. [Illegible]". At the proper top left of the front is a rectangular stamp which reads "ARMY P.O.3" "X" and "JUNE 18"; to the proper left of the script are wavy horizontal lines in a vertical arrangement. There are two rubber stamp imprints on the back rendered in black ink. The first, to the proper left of center in the proper bottom left quadrant is an oval comprised of horizontal lines with negative space between them. The second appears at the center of the back on the lower half; it presents as a circle with text on the interior which reads "RUSSELL 18 JUL 3 AM ONT". The circular inscription is upside-down in relation to the orientation of the envelope.Subject Person/Organization
