Description

This item is a rectangular shape framed commemorative certificate of appreciation to the Mayor and Councillors of Goulbourn Township for services during 50th Anniversary Celebrations of VE Day in May 12-14, 1995. The certificate was presented by the First World War Goulbourn Veterans on June 17, 1995. A decorative boarder of maple leaves surround the certificate. There are two memorial pins included at the top corners of the certificate. The pin on the top left is square with a gold thin boarder, white background and two red poppies on each side of a golden maple leaf. The pin on the top right side is a bronze circular design that has the Royal Canadian Legion coat of arms at the top of the circle. In the centre of this pin is a maple leaf with a capital letter V over top and the number 50 sitting next to the letter V. Under the maple leaf, where a stem is, is the years 1939 (on left) and 1945 (on right). Around the boarder of the pin are the follow words; "We Will Remember. Nous Nous Souvlendrons. Veteran Ancien Combattant." The certificate has decorative blue and black font mixed with gold accents.
