Ground Observer Corps certificate of appreciation awarded to Elroy McCooeye on June 1, 1960. The rectangular shaped paper certificate is oriented vertically, the page is bordered by a light blue coloured line border, at the top of the certificate is the Royal Canadian Air Force badge. The certificate reads, "Presented to: - Elroy McCooeye - in appreciation of valuable service rendered as a member of the Ground Observer Corps of the Royal Canadian Air Force Ottawa Ontario 1 June 1960". On the bottom left corner of the certificate there is a red coloured seal impressed in the paper. The seal has a circular inner design which consists of a central eagle with a crown above, around which is a line border, outside the border and oriented in a circle is block text which reads, "Royal Canadian Air Force." a final line border completes the outside of the design. On the bottom right corner there is a signature block, there is a handwritten signature in black ink, under which is typed, "(Hugh Campbell) Air Marshal Chief of the Air Staff." There is nothing recorded on the reverse of the certificate.Context
