Description

Brown coloured paper envelope used by The Whitehead & Hoag Co. to package and ship badges used by the Stittsville Orange Young Britons. The front of the envelope has the following text along the left side, "Whitehead & Hoag Co." "Badges," "Banners, Flags, Buttons," "Advertising Novelties." "Main Office and Factory," "Washington and Warren Streets," "Newark, N.J., U.S.A." On the right side of the envelope where typically the address would be placed is the following text, "If you wish to keep your badge in good order," "Keep it on the card board, and" "in the envelope." The reverse of the envelope has a round red coloured cardboard tie to close and secure the envelope. The top of the envelope has the following text centred along the top edge, "Tension Envelope, Pat. Aug. 2[8]th, 1990" "Office and Manufactory, 22-24-26 Reada St. N.Y." The bottom of the envelope has a list described as, "Our Badges are covered by the following Patents."
