France, July 20th/18 Dear Mother, Rec'd [abbreviated: received] your letter of June 20th a few days ago containing the five dollars, thanks very much for same was glad to hear that everybody was well. When you wrote this letter Evylen was then trying her entrance. I do hope she passes, she has been doing so good. however if she doesn't it won't be any disappointment. The weddings seem to be going just as strong as ever, Lloyd Beaford is married now eh! Well mother this summer is going pretty fast suppose everybody is busy around home working at the hay, have been having very warm weather recently fragmented by showers of rain which will do the farms some good + on the other hand it makes it bad for them to harvest their crop. Idas father been very busy in the undertaking business? am sure you people must miss George that last snap you sent was very good of him, looked almost as I am, if is good he likes the work, + by this time he will be pretty well acquainted with the people. I also had word from Clystal in the same mail as yours came. Sefton.
