Description

This object is a Deed of Sale between James Douras and Richard McGregor. It is dated December 9, 1880. It concerns a parcel of land designated W1/2 Lot 8 Concession 5. The support is a badly damaged and stained rectangular piece of paper which is a cream-yellow color. The primary medium is a printed black ink. Red ink is also used in some areas for underlining and other administrative purposes. The fields have been filled in with a handwritten black ink, rendered in cursive. The words "This Indenture" are written in a stylized large script on the front, located at the top center of the proper left side. The title page appears perpendicular to the primary text in the proper top left quadrant of the front as this object was intended to be folded into a brochure form for transport and storage.
