Digital image of the banjo ukulele owned by Sefton Stewart of Richmond, Ontario. The banjo ukulele is a four-stringed musical instrument with a small banjo-type body and a fretted ukulele neck.

Context

Sefton and the Stewart family shared a love of music and many of the family were musically gifted. In family history it is the lure of the military band that came to Richmond, and a love for the music encountered, that encouraged Sefton to enlist with the Canadian Expeditionary Force.
