One fabric beanie, red and white cap, stiffened rim with "South Carleton" written in white capital letters.

Context

Part of South Carleton memorabilia, these hats were often used to celebrate or represent various sports teams or organizations. This particular beanie continues to promote the spirit of South Carleton High School in the museum’s collection. Located in Richmond, the school has been teaching younger generations for 69 years. In 1952, South Carleton’s opening was seen as an important advancement in local education. Before that date, teens received their secondary education in small elementary schools that offered little specialization and few activities.
