Description

Circular silver medal. The obverse depicts a portrait of King George V, rendered in profile, with the text "GEORGIVS V BRIT: OMN: REX ET IND: IMP" written along the circumference of the medal. The reverse depicts the figures of St. George on horseback; he carries a short sword in his right hand, and his horse steps on the Prussian shield. The dates 1914 and 1918 appear at the top of the medal, embossed onto the surface. A ribbon is attached to the medal by a metal bar; the ribbon contains seven bands of colour: blue, black , white, yellow, white, black, blue.
