Description
Metal uniform button belonging to Roy McCooeye. The circular brass coloured button has a central design identifying the Corps of Royal Canadian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RCEME). The circular button has a central design consisting of a lightning bolt in the background, in the foreground at the bottom is a globe, on which a horse is standing in a reared position with two legs in the air, above the horse is the image of the St. Edward's Crown. The St. Edward's Crown was used to recognize the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. This button would then date to 1952 or after as the RCEME badge was changed to include the St. Edward's Crown when Elizabeth II ascended to the throne in 1952. On the reverse of the button a circular loop is affixed.
