Description

Sterling silver screw-post pin consisting of a shield with three maple leafs joined by a single stem, with a crown above and a scroll below that reads: "General Service." This design is the second of two proposed designs for the War Service Badge: Service Class, a badge established by W. Duff, Canada's Administrator in Council, in 1940 for members of the military, air force and navy who had been honourably discharged from service. The reverse contains a serial number (600265) and text that reads: "PENALTY FOR MISSUSE 500 DOLLARS OR SIX MONTHS IMPRISONMENT." Pin owned by C.E. Rielly.
