Stittsville News, July 1990.
Artist Todd Kowalik is donating drawing of railroad station to Goulbourn Museum.
An original pencil drawing of the old Stittsville railroad station will be donated to the Goulbourn Museum by artist Todd Kowalik at the Museum's official opening this Sunday afternoon, July 8.
Mr Kowalik, from the Stittsville Picture Framing and Studio Gallery on Main Street in Stittsville, recently completed the drawing.
Prints are being made of the drawing and they will be available for sale both at the Museum and at the Stittsville Picture Framing.
The drawing of the old Stittsville railroad station was completed by Mr. Kowalik, with help from Cliff Williams who supplied a picture of an old steam engine and Ray Bell who provided old photographs of the Stittsville station.
Mr. Kowalik wanted to make the drawing of the old station as accurate as possible and hence his efforts at seeking out pictures of the old station and a steam train. The train is stopped at the station in the drawing.
Mr. Kowalik also has used his artistic expertise to create a drawing of the Museum building itself.
This picture now adorns a new button for the Goulbourn Museum. These buttons will sell for one dollar apiece and will be on sale to the public for the first time at the official opening on July 8.
Mr. Kowalik is extremely interested in drawing heritage buildings and is planning to have a package of four Stittsville heritage buildings available for sale this summer or early in the fall. These will be a limited edition of the drawings printed for sale.
His main interest, besides heritage buildings, is painting all facets of wildlife.Collection
