Description

One printed photograph of three central figures, two women with a central man holding a small umbrella. There are additional figures seated on the ground under umbrellas in the background on the right, and trees and frame house in the further background. The donor identified the central male figure as Sefton Stewart with family and friends at the Stewart family home in Richmond the weekend before Sefton departed for active service with the Canadian Expeditionary Force during the First World War. On the reverse of the photograph an inscription reads, "Murial Stewart (L) (NEE Hemphill) / Sefton Stewart / Gertie Moore (NEE Mills) / 1916." The inscription identified the left female figure as Murial Stewart (Hemphill), Sefton Stewart in the middle holding the umbrella, and Gertie Moore (Mills) on the right.
