Description

One black and white studio photograph of a Caucasian woman. The woman is identified as Margaret Stewart (nee MacLean). Margaret is posed with her proper left arm resting on a flat surface that is chest height, and her proper right arm is resting with the elbow on the flat surface and hand is positioned at the proper right side of her face at the jaw. Margaret is wearing a V-neck collar 3/4 length sleeve black blouse or dress (unknown), with a necklace of two rows of light and dark coloured beads, and a thick undecorated metal band on her wedding ring finger on her proper left hand. Margaret's hair is light coloured and wavy and neatly styled close to her crown. The photograph is matted with a reflective silver coloured rectangular cardboard mat. On the reverse of the image, in the bottom right corner there is a faint graphite inscription which reads, "F-4." Margaret Stewart was the mother of Sefton Stewart a Canadian Expeditionary Force member who served from 1916-1918 during the First World War. The family resided in Richmond, Ontario.
