The object is a light brown coloured cloth Field Cap style service hat with a bronze cap badge on the front. The badge is brown to black in colour and the overall shape and background is a maple leaf. The badge also has a crown motif that is located on top of the maple leaf and metal lettering in the foreground. The metal lettering states: Ottawa Overseas Battalion# 38 Canada.
