The object is a wooden framed charcoal painting portrait of a woman's upper body. The woman is dressed in an overcoat, a neck scarf and a bonnet. The portrait is encased within glass. The frame is separated in two different sections, the outside and inside frame. The outside edge frame is many-piece gilt wood that is brown in colour and the inside of the frame that encompasses the portrait is plaster that is gold to brown in colour. The outside edge design of the frame has a textured and layered look that resembles metal chain links while the plaster inside frame has 3 types of decorative motifs.
