This object is a six page land deed document which outlines the transfer of a parcel of land from Lancelot Dawson and other members of the Dawson family to George Dawson following the death of Francis Dawson in 1881. It is dated November 3, 1893. It concerns a plot of land designated the south part of Lot 17 Concession 5. The document is intended to be folded three times along a horizontal axis to make it smaller; this can be deduced by the placement of the title page is located on the back page, oriented perpendicular to the primary text of the document. There is a brass tack in the proper top right corner which holds the papers together. The support is an off white paper. The medium is a blue printed ink. A red ink has been used to underline certain words and other administrative purposes. A pencil has been used to make administrative notations; these take the form of checkmarks that have been x'd off or small notations which occur above the the denoted words. The fields are filled out in handwritten black ink. The third page has four circular red seals in a vertical alignment located at the proper bottom left corner. The fourth page has 16 circular red seals in a vertical alignment located along the proper left margin.Context
