Description

This object is a land deed transfer document between Wilfred Cathcart and James Cathcart. It is dated to May 30, 1907. It concerns a parcel of land designated W1/2 Lot 24 Concession 7. The support is a rectangular cream colored piece of paper. The medium is a black printed ink. The fields have been filled in with a handwritten black ink rendered in cursive. A red ink was used for decorative purposes to create borders. There is a stamp rendered in blue ink consisting of 7 lines of script located on the proper right top corner of the front. The writing on the proper right half of the front is oriented vertically, with the bottom of the script pointed towards the proper right edge of the page; the title page of this document appears in the proper top right quadrant of this half. The proper left half of the front features the words "This Indenture" at the top center, rendered in black ink in a decorative font. On the front there are 3 vertical lines which are comprised of thin parallel red lines; these extend the length of the proper left half. The proper right most vertical red line, near the center of the page, is comprised of 5 smaller lines, the middle vertical line is comprised of 4 smaller lines, and the line located at the proper leftmost is comprised of 3 smaller red lines. There are also 2 horizontal red lines which are made of smaller red lines that run the length of the proper right left half of the front. The topmost line is comprised of 4 smaller lines; the bottom is comprised of 3 smaller red lines. The back of this page has three circular red seals located on the proper bottom right corner in a vertical alignment; these resemble cogs with pointed teeth. On the back of the page, the horizontal lines extend across both halves of the page. There are 5 vertical and 2 horizontal red lines. The vertical line at the proper leftmost is comprised of 4 smaller lines. The remainder of the vertical lines are comprised of 3 lines. The furthest proper right vertical red line appears to have bled during the printing and the lines are much less distinct. The top horizontal line is comprised of 4 smaller lines, the lower horizontal line is comprised of 3 horizontal lines. The proper left half of the back of the page contains 3 vertical red lines and 2 horizontal red lines. The proper right half of the back of the page contains 2 vertical red lines and 2 horizontal red lines.
