Description

Circular military decoration with ribbon. The obverse depicts a personification of Victory; she appears as a winged woman and holds a palm branch in her right hand. Text embossed on the reverse of the medal reads: "THE GREAT WAR FOR CIVILISATION 1914-1919." The text is encircled by a wreath. A ribbon is attached to the medal by a copper ring; the ribbon contains bands of colours in varying shades: violet, blue, green, yellow, red. Medal was owned by Clarence Rielly; his name and rank are etched into the rim of the medal, along with a serial number: "507530 SPR C C RIELLY C E."
