Ashton railway station looking eastward. This is a photograph of the railway station at Ashton, taken around the turn of the century, looking eastward. A section crew, with its pump hand car, is on the track in front of the station. It is interesting to note the freight cars pulled off on a siding in the background at the left. The Goulbourn/Beckwith Township line is at the far end of the station. The Ashton railway station was located two concessions north of the village of Ashton.
Joseph Heckman commissioned by the The Company to photograph their early stations wanted to have the local C.P.R. employees in his pictures.
