This is a photograph of the Melville Presbyterian Church manse in Ashton, taken in 1910. This white frame house was occupied by Reverend A. R. Stewart from 1889 to 1890 and then by Reverend George Bayne from 1891 to 1908. After this, the minister resided in Appleton, and the house was occupied by Dr. Worley Ashton's longtime doctor. He started his practice in Ashton in 1908, continuing until after the Second World War. At the time the photo was taken Rev. Bayne lived in the Manse.
