Description
Black and white photograph of St. Thomas Anglican Church in Stanley Corners, Ontario on June 26, 1964. The church was struck by lightening and subsequently the roof caught on fire. In this photograph the photographer is standing at the front of the church, on the road. The church was a wood frame structure with white wood siding and a metal roof. The photograph shows the front of the church steeple on fire with two fire fighters standing in front of the building and spraying water on the fire. The steeple is surrounded by smoke, some of the lower structure is showing and the wood is scorched with some siding missing completely. There are two ladders visible in the background up against the right side of the church.
