Description
Black and white photograph of St. Thomas Anglican Church in Stanley Corners, Ontario on June 26, 1964. The church was struck by lightening and subsequently the roof caught on fire. In this photograph the photographer is standing at the front right side of the church, on the grass. The church was a wood frame structure with white wood siding and a metal roof. The photograph shows three ladders placed against the right side of the church. The bottom edge of the roof has the metal lifted up to expose the wooden frame underneath. There are three individuals in the foreground two of which are fire fighters holding a ladder. There are two individuals including one holding a hose on the roof in the background. There is a small amount of debris scattered on the grass beside the church.
