Grand Hotel / Point Clear Hotel !Description
The second Grand Hotel (Point Clear Hotel) stool from the early 1870's till 1939. The long two-story structure offered bayside accommodations at Point Clear, facing due South. The building housed at least 40 guest rooms; it sustained damages following the hurricanes of 1906 and 1916. The second Grand Hotel was sold by the James K. Glennon estate to the Grand Hotel Corporation in 1939. Plans for improvements to the property followed soon thereafter, leading to this structure being demolished to make way for Grand Hotel III, which opened in April of 1941.Create Date
